LinkWorth – Testing the water
In my constant search for well run affiliate and marketing programs for my own website as well as information that I can pass on to others, I took a little trip over to LinkWorth.com to see what they were all about.
Upon first impression the main site looked clean and well set up, it flows nicely and leads you of course to the sign up page. The main graphic on the home page is as accurate a depiction of the process as I could envision. LinkWorth offers both publishers and advertisers different ways to make money and or traffic.
Once you've gone and signed up, which is nice and easy, you will be at the account page and see what appears at first to be an overwhelming amount of sections and subsections. This feeling will pass in time.
I'm not exactly endorsing the setup that they have, because it is a bit confusing. However, the best advice I can give a new user would be to login, and focus on one thing at a time. The first thing you should consider is wether or not you want to be a 50/50 account, or a 70/30 account. The 50/50 account is what LinkWorth calls their "Preferred" accounts, as they split the profit of each sale with you 50/50 (duh). The upside of this account, is that LinkWorth will work harder to promote you're site to advertisers that use LinkWorth. Why would they do this? Simple, they make more money with a 50/50 account, so its in their best interested to promote those accounts.
For a new user thats just starting out I would suggest starting as a 50/50 account until you've built up your site somewhat and have a bigger following. Once you've managed to get a few sales, and have some decent traffic coming to your site, you can switch to a 70/30 account and start to earn a bit more for yourself. The downside of this is that you have to actively seek out more advertisers on your own, but at this point you're websites popularity will help you tremendously.
Once you've set your account type, click on the Mysites tab, and go to you're site thats listed. Make sure to double check all the relevant info and make changes if necessary. After that, sit back and watch for an advertiser that is interested in posting to your website. Once you see an offer appear in your LinkWorth account, be sure to post it as soon as you can. Once you've got one advertiser you should notice a bigger influx of interest from other advertisers.
More info coming soon. Keep tuned. Also, what are your thoughts on LinkWorth? How much have you made using them on your website if you have?
