Halo 3 Will Make You Money
Halo 3 has been out for almost a month now, more then enough time for people to develop addictions. I'm including myself in that statement by the way. While I was ruthlessly putting down some obnoxious high schoolers the other night on the Valhalla map using a sniper rifle I had a thought to look up the Major League Gaming website after the match. So 50 kills later I'm surfing their page and finding some interesting information. I might just quit my job! (but not really).
Prolific gamers such as TSquared and Walshy have paved the way for others, but its not going to happen for everyone, in fact very few will make as much money as those two have from playing video games. There is hope however! With the release of Halo 3, MLG has begun to increase the online tournaments it is hosting.
The buy in price for tournaments is 20 credits which works out to be about $15, not too bad, especially if you're in the 4v4 team tournaments. Top players are making $250,000 a year under contracts. The online tournaments are a great way to get your name out there and start your entry into the MLG. Every tournament the MLG hosts, has spots for Pro Gamers, Semi Pro Gamers, and the rest of us.
Start practicing today.
If you aren't a Halo 3 player, consider it. The amount of buzz and tight community that surrounds the game is massive. Having news and articles about Halo can increase your traffic substantially if gamers find it useful and informative. Advertisers also spend an incredible amount of money sponsoring the gaming world, and as a result the money per click is very high.

If anyone decides to “try” to make Halo or anyother popular game a day job here’s some tips…
-I’d seriously encourage watching re-runs of the Halo2 tournaments hosted through MLG. This will show what your up against. These guys practice like it’s a religion.
- Play Halo2 first. Reason is because you need to learn tactics before you can place weapons and people anywhere you please.———–
I read an article of a boy (8 years old, etc) that gives hourly lessons. He signed a copy of the game, but he had to print because he can’t write in cursive yet!
