Did your page rank go up over the weekend? Did it go down? Seems like all I’m reading about this morning is page rank this or page rank that. We all know Google is the most influential force on the internet, but are they really all that powerful?
What would happen if no one used Google anymore? Just think about that for a moment. If say a 70% majority of users stopped searching the internet with Google, and moved to different search avenues, would Google cease to have power? I believe they would to a point, but they have become diversified enough now with other ventures that they have their hands in a lot of different pots.
This is a good example of the question who really holds the power. Does Google really control everything or are they simple utilizing the power given to them by their users continual acceptance that Google is the best thing ever invented since sliced bread.
In the long run, page rank is really only useful to webmasters and marketing professionals as something concrete to show their clients.

I wouldn’t worry about pagerank but most of the advertisers do. So, to get good advertisers you need good pagerank, it’s simple as that.
