The Five Essential Aspects of an Entrepreneur

business entrepreneurOne thing every entrepreneur can relate to is that there is never enough information readily available to help with whatever issue might crop up in a day. Getting your own business off the ground is a big effort, but not as hard as it used to be. The internet has greatly reduced the amount of money & effort involved in creating a viable business. With that being said there are still a lot of hurdles to overcome before you can successfully run and maintain an online or off line empire of your very own.

I myself have dabbled in a lot of different areas, everything from graphic artist to freelance photographer, to affiliate marketing etc. All of these different paths have taken me to many different places in life, some good and some bad. Someone once told me that you learn twice as much from your mistakes as you learn from your successes, as I get older I have come to appreciate that statement so much more.

When looking to start your own business you need several things. I've listed a few of the more important aspects of an entrepreneur in my mind below.

Work ethic.
Lets face it, without a great work ethic you're already sunk. Despite what all the real estate commercials on TV are telling you at 2 a.m. you will not get rich over night. You need a great work ethic and the ability to plan and organize your time accordingly to give your new business the best chance it can get at getting off the ground. It doesn't stop there though, once you've gotten your business established you need to continue to work at it, its not a Ronco set it and forget type deal here! All of the major affiliate marketers and off line ceo's alike have a consistent work ethic that maintains there cash flows.

Drive.
This is probably the most important aspect on this list. You're Drive has gotten you this far, and it will need to be there for the long haul. The ability to drag your sorry ass up in the morning, and motivate yourself to work harder then you did yesterday is the most crucial trait of great entrepreneur's the world over. It will get worse before it gets better.I That is true for almost all start up business ventures, and you will need to Drive yourself to overcome the slumps you will encounter along the way.

Money
The fundamental catch 22 of any entrepreneur. The old cliche of "you need money to make money" still applies in the twenty first century whether you like it or not. There are places you can look for Angel investors, wealthy people that like to give out money to fledgling start ups in hopes that they will get a return on investment, but don't count on finding them. A better plan is to utilize what you have access to and leverage it the best you can.

Friends
Its who you know, not what you know. For the longest time I chose not to believe that first sentence, then I started looking into starting my own businesses and believe me its so true. The best part of it though, is if you don't know anyone influential in your field - go find someone and get to know them! When starting up you're new business it is not a time to be shy, you need to get out there and network with people in you're industry or niche. Connecting with others in the same position as you is one of the best ways of working through tough situations. A good place to start is on the forums at Zeromillion.com. There are a lot of other entrepreneurs there that have been through the same startup issues you might be experiencing and can help you overcome the hurdles.

Knowledge
Having the knowledge to understand and interpret the obstacles facing your entrepreneurship is a vital key to a successful business venture. One of the best sources of information I've found to date is over at Zeromillion.com - the resource library there is great. Constant knowledge consumption and interpretation of that knowledge can greatly enhance your entrepreneur experience for the better.

It all boils down to how badly you want to make it work. In the long run it will not be easy, but starting your own business is something anyone can do that has determination and willingness to stick with the plan and see it through. The internet has an infinite number of possible business angles you can apply your entrepreneurial spirit towards and make yourself well off for the future. So stop sitting there like a couch potato and get on it!
