Server Search Continues

As some of you may know I’ve been recently searching for a new hosting platform to serve the pages of this fine establishment (heavy note of sarcasm there). Of course I had started with the big boys like Rackspace and Godaddy but they’re services to me seem way out of my price range – although I must say that Rackspace has a phenomenal customer service center. I’m also a bit stuck in whether or not I should classify this site as a business website hosting package or a personal website hosting package as it could potentially fall under both types.

I happened to be looking over some newer companies that I haven’t looked to closely at last night and found one that I might switch over to and have a dedicated server. At first I wasn’t even considering a dedicated server, but the price for this one sort of took me by surprise. The dedicated business website hosting package over at burtonhosting.com is only $72 a month. Which if you take into consideration what a rackspace server would run you is a huge difference in price range.

Now all you tech geeks out there are going to yell and scream and say thats not the best processor or the most ram etc, but for the price its nothing to shake a stick at either. If I really wanted to run a nitrous cooled super computer I’d go build one and put it in my basement. But for a business website hosting package that contains my own dedicated server this looks like it might be a pretty decent package for me to go with.
