Blogging Recession
So as everyone knows the US economy is and has been in a recession for a few years now. According to some it just started, but most normal people understand that it has been going on for a longer period of time, and we just didn't magically arrive at this craptastic economy overnight. But this begs the the question of if the economy is in a recession does the blogosphere automatically reflect what happens in the real world.
I'm not sure that it does automatically reflect the real world economy, but it is certainly heavily influenced by it. I know many bloggers that are full time have seen a massive decrease in affiliate sales the last 6 months or so. However, I've also seen an upward trend in users fully clicking through links that offer sales or discounts on goods they use on a daily basis.
If you have a site that can reflect needs of everyday households, you're sitting on a gold mine. One of the best ways to save money in a recession is to shop around for the best deal (much like any other type of economy). Sales sites, and deal shoppers are loving this type of economy. Throw into the mix the holiday season and presto! you've got a recipe for sucess.

It’s a pain
Although, AdSense doesnt show this as much as it is CPC, so AdSense is probably a good alternative nowDecember 16th, 2008 at 4:50 am -
