Powertools to the Rescue

What a sucky weekend this turned out to be. My old laptop decided to up and die on me this weekend, and by die i mean get infected with just about every known bad file on the interwebs. I couldn't open a program to save my life, and when I wasn't trying to open anything I had pop ups coming at me fast and hard. All this with a presentation due on Monday and me actually needing to do some real work for once!
So what to do. Luckily I had remembered a great program that a friend of mine had told me about a few weeks ago that had just released a 2009 update and so I thought I'd give that a try. jv16 PowerTools 2009 is a great system, period. I knew I had some serious registry issues going on so I started with a registry sweep, which you can try out free on their website. I used the actual program since I was in some serious fixing needs.
This suite of power tools just works great. It swept through the registry like a blizzard coming out of the frozen north to conquer all badness in its wake. My registry was cleaned out in a hurry and back to a working order within an hour which was insanely helpful to say the least.
After my registry was back in order I got down to business and reinstalled a few programs, and also removed a few that had gotten on to the system without my actually wanting them there. Suffice it to say that it took a little while to get back to a running state.
If you are in the market like I was for a good registry cleaner that can save you a boat load of time, definitely check out jv16 PowerTools 2009, it can save you a huge headache. They also offer a 30-day trial which you should really check out even if you think you do not have any registry problems, it will most likely find some that you're not aware of.
