LinkWorth - Testing the water
Posted by admin
In my constant search for well run affiliate and marketing programs for my own website as well as information that I can pass on to others, I took a little trip over to LinkWorth.com to see what they were all about.
Upon first impression the main site looked clean and well set up, it flows nicely and leads you of course to the sign up page. The main graphic on the home page is as accurate a depiction of the process as I could envision. LinkWorth offers both publishers and advertisers different ways to make money and or traffic.
Once you’ve gone and signed up, which is nice and easy, you will be at the account page and see what appears at first to be an overwhelming amount of sections and subsections. This feeling will pass in time.
I’m not exactly endorsing the setup that they have, because it is a bit confusing. However, the best advice I can give a new user would be to login, and focus on one thing at a time. The first thing you should consider is wether or not you want to be a 50/50 account, or a 70/30 account. The 50/50 account is what LinkWorth calls their “Preferred” accounts, as they split the profit of each sale with you 50/50 (duh). The upside of this account, is that LinkWorth will work harder to promote you’re site to advertisers that use LinkWorth. Why would they do this? Simple, they make more money with a 50/50 account, so its in their best interested to promote those accounts.
For a new user thats just starting out I would suggest starting as a 50/50 account until you’ve built up your site somewhat and have a bigger following. Once you’ve managed to get a few sales, and have some decent traffic coming to your site, you can switch to a 70/30 account and start to earn a bit more for yourself. The downside of this is that you have to actively seek out more advertisers on your own, but at this point you’re websites popularity will help you tremendously.
Once you’ve set your account type, click on the Mysites tab, and go to you’re site thats listed. Make sure to double check all the relevant info and make changes if necessary. After that, sit back and watch for an advertiser that is interested in posting to your website. Once you see an offer appear in your LinkWorth account, be sure to post it as soon as you can. Once you’ve got one advertiser you should notice a bigger influx of interest from other advertisers.
More info coming soon. Keep tuned. Also, what are your thoughts on LinkWorth? How much have you made using them on your website if you have?

3 Top Tools To Be A High Roller Affiliate Marketer
Posted by admin
How do I become a successful Affiliate Marketer? What componants make up a successful affiliate marketing story? Are there shortcuts in the Affiliate Marketing game? All of these questions are most likely floating through the heads of Affiliate Marketers who are just starting out.
Although Affiliate Marketing is promoted as one of the easier ways to make money online, it is by no means an easy path to riches. A wise Affiliate Marketer plans and researches every move and program. They should maximize the potential for earnings by utilizing the most up to date affiliates. Listed below are some of the most important features to have when starting out as an Affiliate Marketer.
Vital Tool #1: Owning Your Own Website
Without a doubt the most important tool to an Affiliate Marketer is the ability to have their own website. The first step in any successful affiliate marketing business is building a good, credible and professional looking website. The website is the starting point for all affiliate ventures. The first important step with your website is to make it user friendly. This will enable the end user to justify clicking on links that are trustworthy and have confidence in buying through you. Concentrate on providing a specific, targeted website that focuses on a specific niche market.
Something important to consider is that most browsers are not looking to buy immediately, and are looking for more information first. Having fresh, origional content is a huge bonus. Content is prized above all else by search engines, keep your content updated and fresh will not only keep your customer coming back but it will most likely garner you a good position with search engines. By posting useful information, you become a credible source that users will return to again. Having a good reputation amongst your customers is paramount to success.
Vital Tool #2: Give a ways, Contests & Incentives
With the global structure of the internet, competition is at an all time high. To capture a significant part of your market you must try to out think your competition and be one step ahead with marketing and trend forecasting. That being said you need to do everything possible to get people to click your links and follow through with leads. Having an opt-in newsletter is often one of the biggest helps to an affiliate marketer in generating leads and sales. Offering a newsletter, blog subscription or ezine is a good way to start. Another way to get subscibers is to offer something as a give away or contest promotion. Consumers everywhere LOVE to get free stuff. Even if its something trite or a small discount on an item, free stuff sells!
Vital Tool #3: Link Popularity & Back Linking
Driving high quality traffic to your website is paramount to success. Ask any successful website in any niche market or global market and they will tell you traffic is how your website lives or dies. Once you have some worthwhile content you should spend a good chunk of time devoted to developing traffic resources. Search engine ranking will be key, but not the most important feature. Link Popularity is one of the most important factors in search engine ranking, so back links become super important. Back linking campaigns should be done all the time.
A good start to this is to submit you’re articles - with your website link attached - to free directories and communities such as myspace & facebook. This will gain you some exposure and its free, just be sure to put a link to your site. The more sites you submit to the better chance you will have of gaining a larger link back listing. Having a good writers voice helps tremendously though, so practice a bit before releasing a bunch of posts into the wild.
Utilize these three tools and you will have a good base to start from in your journey to becoming a good Affiliate Marketer. That being said, don’t be afraid to break from the mold either. The west wasn’t won in a day, it will take you time to build up your websites popularity and relevance. Perseverance is key, so stick with it - and above all else - enjoy yourself!
